NSFDC Scheme Transforms Lives: Chhindwara's Durgesh Achieves Financial Independence After Unemployment
Durgesh Barkhane, a resident of Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, has achieved self-reliance through the NSFDC Electric Auto-Rickshaw Subsidy Scheme.

An initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is helping people from marginalized communities establish sustainable livelihoods and improve their economic conditions. Timely financial assistance for self-employment is playing a crucial role in creating sources of income and strengthening the financial security of families.
In line with this effort, Mr. Durgesh Barkhane, a resident of Junnardeo in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh, was selected under the 'NSFDC Electric Auto-Rickshaw Subsidy Scheme, 2024'. Under this scheme, he was provided with financial assistance of 1,85,000 rupees, which enabled him to purchase an auto-rickshaw and establish a means of livelihood for his family.
Prior to benefiting from the scheme, Mr. Durgesh was unemployed and had no permanent source of income. Due to limited economic resources, he faced difficulties in meeting the basic needs of his family. After receiving government assistance, he purchased an auto-rickshaw and began earning, leading to a positive shift in his economic situation. He is now able to contribute to the maintenance and welfare of his family with confidence.
Expressing gratitude for his success, Mr. Durgesh Barkhane said, "This financial assistance has given me the opportunity to become self-reliant through an auto-rickshaw. It has improved my economic condition and enabled me to support my family with greater dignity."
Mr. Barkhane's experience demonstrates how timely financial assistance can create employment opportunities in rural communities and make people economically self-sufficient.
