Department of Revenue Launches Special Campaign 6.0 to Resolve Pending Cases and Enhance Cleanliness
The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, and its associated offices are participating in Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, 2026, aimed at improving administrative efficiency and cleanliness.

The Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, has completed preparations to participate in Special Campaign 6.0 along with its associated, subordinate offices and regional units. This campaign is being conducted across all departments of the Government of India from October 2 to October 31, 2026. Led by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the primary objective of this initiative is to institutionalize cleanliness and ensure the timely and effective disposal of pending matters.
The preparatory phase of the campaign commenced on September 17, 2026. As part of this process, organizations linked to the Department of Revenue—including the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), the Enforcement Directorate (ED), and the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-India)—conducted intensive reviews. These reviews identified references from Members of Parliament and state governments, public grievances, cleanliness drives in offices and public spaces, digitization efforts, the removal of unnecessary records, and the disposal of e-waste and obsolete items. Each organization has also appointed nodal officers for the implementation phase.
The department is placing special emphasis on reducing the number of physical records, promoting a paperless working environment, and utilizing technology to enhance citizen-centric service delivery.
Notably, the Department of Revenue played an active role in the previous Special Campaign 5.0. Between December 2025 and August 2026, the department resolved 65 inter-ministerial references, over 100 VIP references, 12,611 public grievances, and 274 public grievance appeals. Additionally, revenue amounting to 5,03,500 rupees was generated through the disposal of waste.
Through Special Campaign 6.0, the Department of Revenue reaffirms its commitment to cleanliness, e-waste disposal, space management, transparency, and accountability to enhance administrative efficiency at all levels.
