Cleanliness Drive Organized at Safdarjung Tomb Under Leadership of Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal
As part of Special Campaign 6 and 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2026', the Ministry of Law and Justice organized a Shramdan program at the Safdarjung Tomb in New Delhi.

A Shramdan program was organized on October 1, 2026, at the historic Safdarjung Tomb in New Delhi, under the leadership of Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge). This initiative was conducted by the Department of Legal Affairs and the Department of Legislative Affairs of the Ministry of Law and Justice as part of Special Campaign 6 and 'Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2026'. The primary objective of the program was to promote cleanliness, civic responsibility, and community participation, while creating awareness regarding a sustainable environment.
Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Department of Legal Affairs, along with senior officials from both departments and legal experts, actively participated in the drive. Additionally, panel lawyers of the Government of India, led by Shri Chetan Sharma, Assistant Government Counsel at the Delhi High Court, also joined the Shramdan program.
On this occasion, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal emphasized the importance of collective participation and encouraged everyone to make cleanliness a part of their daily lives. He stated that continuous efforts from individuals and institutions are essential for a healthy and sustainable environment. Mentioning the International Day for Older Persons celebrated on October 1, the Minister honored the most senior person present at the event, who is a panel advocate for the Government of India at the Delhi High Court.
During the campaign, Shri Meghwal praised the contributions of the ministry's sanitation workers and presented them with cleanliness kits. The program was organized with the aim of bringing government organizations and citizens together to contribute to the improvement of public spaces, reflecting the ministry's commitment to environmental awareness and responsible resource management.
